Today I had a few errands to run and I needed gas so I drove down to the gas station close to my home . As I pulled up to the pump I looked up at the sign to check the price , my jaw dropped . The price was $2.99 a gallon , I didn't get gas there but drove on in to town to see if anyone else was cheaper and it is all the same everywhere . I was listening to the radio station and they announced that the cheapest gas they could find was $2.97 a gallon. This is ridiculous! We shouldn't be paying these prices for gas . I don't know why they are giving the reason as the oil rigs, refineries in the south because that is not the oil supply they use anyway. I have never really been in favor of Bush but now I am fed up with him . Before he is done with his term this country is going to be broke and half of our citizens dead because of the war in Iraq , which I have my own opinion on that stuff too . What is next ? Who knows .

I agree with you sweetie! My husband and I are freaking out about how we're going to afford to heat the house this winter. He may need to sell that kidney after all.
Snavy = this is one of those times that I am glad my husband and I are happy to have electric heat.
Sis = Hey ! That is terrible especially since they have the cheapest gas. There are already gas stations here that are running out of gas and they don't know when more will come in . They are saying to expect gas to be at least $4.10 a gallon tomorrow.
well, if it makes you feel better ... milk costs about $3 a gallon too ... not sure where i'm going with this ... but hey ...
LOL! Thanks Thom and actually I pay about $3.50 for milk . LOL! Our gas is now $3.19 for regular unleaded and stations around here are running out and they have no idea when they will get more in .

I agree completely Billy ! Our gas is now $3.45 and it was $3.29 this morning . Alot of our gas stations are out of gas and have no idea when they will get another shipment. They said on the news that the autorities said if they saw price gouging then they would prosecute and I say they need to prosecute all of them because that is what they are doing . I can understand a price increase when a new shipment comes in but they are making a killing on shipments they purchased before Katrina hit. Your gas might not come from there, but whoever's gas does is now trying to access gas from your sources - that might be why your prices are rising.
Anyway, I can sympathise with you. I've just done some converting of litres to gallons and Aussie dollars to US dollars, and worked out that I'm currently paying US$3.62/gallon for gas. They're saying it may go up again, too.
