It has been a while since I posted last time so I thought I would get on while I have the time.
First off I went to the doctor last Tuesday for my pre-op check up and that went pretty well. The doc said that I am healing well but not as quickly as I should be, which we kind of knew this was going to happen because something with my body chemical and sutures just don't mix that well so it takes sutures about three times longer to dissolve in my body than what it would take in a normal person but like I said we knew this before hand so it was expected. As far as the hormone replacement goes I am doing okay with those as well, just having a few hotflashes and I am always either too hot or I am freezing to death but my doc said that was a normal thing, she told me that if I thought we needed to go up on the mg we could however I chose to stay where I am with them and let time do its thing, I just thank God that I am not having the emotional roller coaster that a lot of women experience with hormone replacements. I am going to try to go back to work on December 26. I don't know how well that is going to go since I am still uncomfortable sitting but I am ready to try it. The doc just told me I need to take it a bit easier than I have been and maybe that will help.
Yesterday, the 18th, marked the one year since our contractor broke ground on our house. I told my husband it sure didn't seem like it had been a year and it doesn't feel like we have been living here for eight months either.
I have to go in few minutes and attend my sons Christmas party at school. Today is there last day until January 2 or 3 so they are all very excited about that.
We had our Christmas play last Sunday at church and I have to say that I walked out of there very proud of my family. They were all in the play, my oldest daughter had the biggest part (most lines) and she memorized every single one of them, she played a store owner, Holly Berry, who is a non-believer that put out a nativity scene in hopes of gaining more business however she misplaces the baby Jesus and doesn't think it is a big deal until every body mentions it and complains or voices their opinion on the matter. My husband played a street person that is actually an angel sent from God to try and open Ms. Berry's eyes by giving her a message. My twelve year old daughter played two characters, one being a customer with a group of teenage girls and the other being a thief that breaks into Ms. Berry's shop and gets caught. My son played a student that came in with his class and then another part where he is called a bathrobe child. At the end of the of the play Ms. Berry sees the light and seeks salvation. It really turned out well and this has been the biggest production that our church has ever performed before, I am really proud of everyone that was in it.
I do apologize for not being around much lately but I have been taking it easy , doctors orders, and I just haven't been in here in the office that much. I have been reading like a fool though.
Well I need to sign off, it is almost party time in my sons class.
Y'all have a beautiful day, stay warm and God Bless You!

a need to gab a while....
..and since my husband gets to hear me all the time, plus it wouldn't look very good if I were to have a conversation with myself even though I am known for that very thing, I chose to come here to sound off a bit.
Earlier today I posted but I was interrupted before I even got started so I am back again tonight. I guess you could say that I have had a bit of cabin fever the last few days even though I have gotten out of the house some. Don't get me wrong, I have thoroughly enjoyed being at home after working at the hospital all of the time for the past three months, but when one goes from busy, busy, busy to can't do nothin' it doesn't take long for the "I need to get out of here" to kick in.
Oh yeah...before I get started I wanted to answer a question from Lightning Bug's Butt..in my earlier post I had said that Mr. B was taking me to lunch so LBB asked...."Adonde van para almorzar"? To be honest with you we didn't go anywhere fancy or anything. We hit a local grill that serves the best grilled burgers I have ever tasted and I hadn't had one in a while so we went there, I wanted a burger but I am not much for a fast food burger so I chose to go to the grill.
I tried driving today, my Dr. had told me not to try it for at least fourteen days after my surgery and then only when I felt comfortable. I stayed behind the wheel for about ten minutes then I was done for so when we stopped by the bank Mr. B had to take over. I think that is the most aggravating part about this whole surgery deal for me...the recovery time and what I can and can't do. You would honestly think that since I have no external incisions on my body that things would be going great and I would be back to normal but that isn't the case. I am lucky enough to know several women that have had the same surgery done and they say it takes a while before you can go back to normal. I had surgery sixteen days ago and it is still uncomfortable for me to sit on the couch or recliner for more than thirty minutes or so at a time, when I get uncomfortable I either have to lay down or get up and walk a bit.
The good thing about the recovery time is that I have had time to read again. Reading is probably one of my favorite things to do and since starting at the hospital I haven't had time to really sit down and read a book. I had Mr. B take me by the book store today so I could purchase some more books because I have read all of the ones at home. My favorite author, Nora Roberts, just had a new book to hit the shelves and I had forgot that it was coming out this past Tuesday but as luck would have it I was at Wal*Mart picking up a couple of items for supper and anytime I go into Wally World I go to the books so I saw the book, bought it and I can't wait for the second one to come out.
As most of you ladies know, the hysterectomy that I had done was a complete one which means that they took everything and with my being only 32 I had to go on hormone replacement pills. Well..that is going good, I am not having the emotional roller coaster that some women have with them at first and thus far the only thing I have noticed is that I am having more hot flashes or as I like to call them "power surges" . I spent Tuesday morning laying on the couch because every time I got up to move around the room was going round and round on me. I can go from freezing to wanting to take an ice cold shower in about 1.2 seconds, other than that things are great. Thankfully I am not experiencing the "I need to cry" emotion nor am I experiencing the "I want to hurt someone" emotion at odd times and for no reason, those things took place before surgery. I have noticed that I am more calm about things in the last two weeks so the hormone replacement pills must be working.
Can ya tell I am bored because of all the babbling?
As I said in my earlier post, I tried to get around to most of your blogs today to read and comment, I made it to most but there were some I missed so I will catch ya tomorrow.
I guess I need to sign off and head for bed since my eyelids are getting extremely heavy on me, I think I have bored myself to sleepiness!
Y'all take care, have a great weekend!

I hope everyone is doing well, I have made it by most everyones blogs today.
Y'all take care, I have to run, MR. B is take me out for lunch...WOOHOO!

a new addition and a Christmas tree...
Hey all! I promised pics of our new puppy, Bentley, so here they are....
This first pic was a close up of his adorable little face as Bethany held him. He really didn't like being held for the picture because he wanted to run and play.

Here he is looking at me after I finally got his attention and held it for more than a nano-second. Yes he is the small black spot in the grass there if you can't see well.....heehee!

Beth and Ty were playing with him in the yard that day so I got a shot of them to show his size. He is such a tiny little thing, the kids absolutely love him.

We needed a new tree this year and I told Mr. B last year that we would be purchasing a pre-lit tree this year because I am tired of dealing with lights each year so Friday after we left Mr. B's brothers house we stopped and picked this up. Mr. B put it up for me on Saturday but it has yet to be decorated because I don't feel like it right now and the kids haven't had time to do it. I think tomorrow night after supper we will make time for the kids and Mr. B to decorate it while I supervise. Actually if you could look closely you would see a light house ornament on there. My friend dropped it by last Wednesday after I got out of the hospital. On the end table you will see a maroon thing laying there on the edge, that is Bentley's new sweater that the kids bought him. He didn't like wearing it so that is where it was put and as you can see I decided to let them do it themselves instead of me picking up after them.

I normally have wrapped presents and gift bags under my tree as soon as it is put up but this year I haven't put anything under there yet, it is all still in hiding. Please excuse the big white pillow on the couch, that is where I was sitting before I snatched the camera out. I forgot that I had that there for my back so I snapped away.
I don't know when I will be back for another post so until then y'all take care!

surgery and recovery....
First of all I want to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes and I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Surgery went very well. I have no external incisions which is an answered prayer. As far as recovery goes... well it is going slow but it is going. Before I had the surgery everyone at work kept telling me that after three days I would feel great but that has yet to be. I don't feel horrible or anything but I am very uncomfortable most of the time which is to be expected after what I had done. I would come by all of your blogs but I can't sit in this chair long enough to comment all of you. I have been sitting here a total of maybe ten minutes and I am already hurting from it. Soft surfaces are the same for me, I just do much better laying down or having room to find the comfortable spot.
Some people kept stressing how important it is to just rest and do nothing because over doing it is easy and I have found that really annoying because it easier than some would think to over do it, I have already done this three times now and I have paid for it each time. I am not a couch potato nor do I watch a lot of tv but I have moved from the bedroom to the couch and I read or watch tv, it gets kind of boring but it is best. When I am really hurting or just feeling blah I go lie down in my bed to rest but most times I plant myself on the couch so that I can see what is going on in the world around me.
We have a new edition to our family named Bentley. He is black, about four and a half inches tall and about six or seven inches long including his tail. Mr. B surprised the kids Saturday by blessing our family with this cute little fella. The kids have been going on and on about wanting a dog so Mr. B took it upon himself to get them one. He is a lab and something mix and he is the cutest little thing, he is so funny to watch him play around in the living room with the kids. He is also a little snuggler, he loves to snuggle with the kids in the floor. He is temporarily living in a corner of the kitchen while Mr. B builds his permanent home outside. He doesn't really like being inside so we take him out often to play, rather they take him out often play.
Anyways, I am going to sign off and go rest, I just wanted to come by and give an update.
Y'all have a wonderful week, hopefully I can get back on tomorrow and post pics of Bentley and our new Christmas tree that Mr. B put up all by himself!

it's time....
Hey y'all! I wanted to get on and post real quick before I go to bed. I go in for my surgery tomorrow and I don't know when I will be back online, I should get out of the hospital on Wednesday but it will probably be a few days before I feel like blogging. I was going to try to get on and come by your blogs but today has been out of this world busy so I had no time.
Anyways, I won't be around for a week or two after tonight so I hope that each and every one of you have a very Blessed Thanksgiving!
Love,
Heather

just passin' through.....
Hey all! How is everyone doing? All is well here other than being crazy busy all the time. I am having trouble sleeping tonight so I thought I would get online for a bit. I finally made my way through my blog roll and commented everyone.
As far as getting things done, this week has been good. I have a clean house, finally new curtains for my bedroom. After church tonight I couldn't sit still so I took my van out to the car wash and washed it ,vacuumed the inside and cleaned all the windows , I haven't had time to really give that mini-van a good scrubbing in some time now so I was really excited about that. Yesterday we got my daughters curtains hung after having them for almost seven months. The curtains that I bought for my room aren't the color that I wanted but they match everything so I will be happy with them for now. I wanted a darker country pink to match the bathroom since I have accented the bathroom with the light green in my bedroom but I couldn't the right color pink unless I had them custom made and since my surgery is only a week and a day away I didn't have time to have them custom made so I went with a darker green which is also in my comforter and it will keep the light out while I am trying to rest after surgery. Right now we just have blinds up and as soon as the sun starts rising my bedroom is lit up brightly so you can't sleep in there much if light bothers you and it does me. I don't sleep good on nights when the moon is full either because it brightens the room.
I am not so nervous about my surgery anymore, I had an appointment with my Dr. Wednesday that was a pre-surgery consult. She answered a lot of questions for me and that made me feel much better about the entire thing. She explained everything they are going to do to me during surgery in detail and that is what helped me out the most, I am a detail person so I want to know. Some people can't watch their blood being drawn but I am the opposite, if you think you are sticking a needle in my arm then be prepared for my eyes to be on that needle at all times, if I turn my head I will pass out. I still have some worries and concerns that make me a bit nervous but it isn't about the actual surgery, it is about the recovery time. For two weeks I have to take it easy and do pretty much nothing but walk a little each day, I am not one that is use to lying around all day so I am not looking forward to it but in another way I am looking forward to some good rest for a couple of days. One good thing about it is that I am booked solid up until the day of surgery so my mind won't have time to dwell on it much this week.
My hormones have been going absolutely crazy the past couple of weeks which has made me want to cry all the time. Ladies you know what I am talking about , the feeling or need to cry or finding yourself crying when you know there is really no reason to be doing so. On my way to and from work I cry at least once both ways and afterwards I do feel better, it seems to make my shoulders feel a couple of tons lighter. There are some things going on around here that has me all bothered, upset, and a nervous wreck half the time but I know I shouldn't be letting those things bother me, I think maybe right now I am just a little to sensitive to everything around me and I don't really know why.
Well it is getting late and I have to get up at 4:30 in the morning so I need to give sleep another shot. I am going to try to make it back by here before Thanksgiving but if not I hope that all of you have a blessed Thanksgiving with your families!
I miss y'all!
Before I go, here is a little something I received in an email from my sister-in-law. I laughed til I had tears rolling down my face because it is so true. Click HERE to watch!

tomorrow is Friday....right?
I sure hope tomorrow is Friday, it must be because I was off work today. Speaking of work, I am starting to settle into my new job very nicely, I rarely work down in the film room anymore except for about an hour each morning. I really miss the ladies that I work with down there so I am hoping to have at least one day working with them before surgery because after I go back from medical leave I will not be in the film room anymore, I will be in the Women's Center only.
I hope everyone had a good Halloween last night and didn't get rolled or anything. We didn't go trick-or-treating this year for the first time in fifteen years, instead our church threw a huge Halloween party for the kids and they got more candy than they do in two years of trick-or-treating. All of the kids had a great time , they were safe and the parents weren't worn out from running here and there to get candy.
As I said earlier today was my day off. Mr. B let me sleep late this morning then I got up, showered and spent the day running to and fro with him. His business is probably the busiest it has ever been in the nine years since he started it so I had to take what time I could get with him so I chose to run all over Knoxville picking up supplies, dropping off samples and listening to him drone on and on with clients on the phone, all in all it was a fun day I guess, we did have some time this afternoon to do some much neglected yard work.
I have three Saturdays between now and my surgery and we have no plans for either of them nor are we making plans. We are going to take that time to get things done around here that we haven't had time to do lately and I am sure that some of that time will be used to do absolutely nothing. We do have a small cook-out planned with my parents, my sister and her fiance this Saturday at our house since I won't be going anywhere or cooking for Thanksgiving.
Well it is coming 'round to my bedtime so I am going to sign off. Y'all have a great Friday and a good weekend!

a day off...
I had to work on my usual day off, Monday, so today was my day off however I didn't get to spend it like I had wanted to. First thing this morning I went in to wake my son and he complained with a head and belly ache, last night his stomach hurt so I thought maybe he was playing off of that to get a day out of school since he knew I was off but I put my hand on his head so that I could use the "you don't have a fever so get up" line on him and was actually a bit shocked to find that he indeed was running a fever so he stayed home. Mr. B and I were supposed to go out for lunch today as well and that didn't happen. Mr. B had planned on taking the day off but he just signed on a huge commercial contract, 40,000 sq. ft. of hardwood flooring to be exact, this work was not supposed to start until next week but the guy called last night and needed one space done today so Mr. B worked all day long and I didn't get to spend any time with him.
After a dose of Children's Motrin and a few more hours sleep my son was feeling somewhat better and I had to go to Wal-Mart so I loaded him off with me. I got in the middle of Wally World and almost collapsed from sudden pain in my nether regions, I have to say that I can't wait for that stuff to be gone from me. So pretty much most of the day I have spent in pain which worries me a bit because the majority of it is in my lower back and I am hoping that my uterus isn't falling farther back than it already has. I just pray that I can handle it for 26 more days and that nothing eventful happens in that time while waiting for surgery.
One good thing is that I am working a lot in my new position and that means that I am not on my feet much which is a good thing right now but sitting too long seems to bother my back as well. Monday was my first day in the mammography office as a registrar. I was up there at that desk all alone and I was ready to get going then the patients started coming in. It was easy but it takes about two to three minutes to get each patient registered and when you have four patients coming in at the same time even though three of them don't have appointments until an hour away things can go south fast and that is exactly what happened. At one point I had eight patients sitting in the waiting area to go back and about five of them were not happy however they all had their mammograms done at the time they were scheduled. The patients still weren't happy because they felt like they had shown up early so they should have got in early. On top of all of this the computer started to mess up, needless to say I became a bundle of nerves in a very short time which made my new boss giggle like a school girl because she said she had never seen me worked up like that. All in all it was a hard day and I was very ready to come home and go to bed at the end of the day.
On Tuesday the computer was working perfectly and I had no back ups, things went so smooth that we finished early then Wednesday I felt like I had been at it for years so it was smooth that day as well. The only thing I need to learn now is basically just the departmental stuff like what to do with all the paperwork or as they call it "busy work" . After that I will be all set up and ready to roll. Monday I didn't have to go in until 8 and I really liked that because I didn't get up until 5:45 instead of my normal 4:30 when I have to be there at 7.
We have been getting much needed rain around here and it is starting to look like fall. I was worried that all the leaves were just going to turn an ugly brown and fall off the trees but the rain seems to have revived them somewhat.
Before I go, today I received wonderful news. My little sister is getting married. Her boyfriend, now fiance, asked her to marry him the other night. They have not set a date yet but that should be coming soon. I am so excited for her and I really like her fiance. He is a sweet guy who treats her great and makes sure that she is taken care of. Congratulations to them!
Well it is getting late and I have to get up at 4:30 in the morning so I am going to call it a night. Y'all have a great weekend!

a date ....
Hey all! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We had a great weekend. We went to North Carolina with some friends Saturday to see a gospel bluegrass band, the drive was beautiful and we had a lot of fun. Yesterday was our Pastor Appreciation Day, our theme was "Old Timers" day. All of the teens dressed in old time floral skirts with matching bonnets, all the men and boys wore over alls with white t-shirts. There was lots of food, music and games.
I am usually off on Monday but this week I get a different day off because I am working in the Women's Center today. This will be my first day alone up there and I am ready to do it, the rest of the week I will be working in the file room.
My doctors office called me back Friday and I have a surgery date, November 20 at 1:00pm. That gives me four weeks to get things done around the house and to teach my kids and husband how to do laundry and all the little extra things that I do. I am not trying to sound like my family are idiots, their not, I am just very picky about the way my laundry is done and I realize that I will just have to not be so picky while I am recovering from surgery but at the same time they need to know how to at least fold clothes and keep the wrinkles out.
It has already been decided that my kids will accompany Mr. B and I to the hospital on Nov. 20 when I have my surgery because they are all worried about it now so I don't want them sitting in class all day that day worrying. I should only be in the hospital for one to two days if everything goes the way we are hoping they do.
I was talking to my new boss on the phone telling her the exact date of surgery Friday and she told me that I would have to give her and my other boss directions to my house so that they can cook a couple of meals and bring over for my family while I am recovering, I thought that was so sweet of her, I have the best bosses!
Right now my only worries about the surgery are that I am dreading the first couple of weeks after. My doctor said that the first couple of weeks are very important and I am not to so much as make my bed, lie around is all I will be able to do for fourteen long days, looking at it right now makes it look like a hard thing to do but I am sure once the surgery is done I will be thinking that it sounds perfect. In a way I kind of wish that surgery wasn't four weeks away because of all the anxiety but in another way I am glad because it gives me time to get things done so that I won't worry during recovery.
Thank all of you so much for your kind comments!
I have to go now or I will be late for work, y'all have a great day!

news from the dr.
Hey all! I had a few minutes before bed time so I thought I would get on and share my news from my doctors visit yesterday. I haven't been poked, probed or prodded that much in a while, want to talk about a thorough exam...my new doctor doesn't play around. Once we introduced ourselves and got to the matter at hand she wanted to know my entire history on my female organs. We were at that for a bit and she asked me a lot of questions. Once all the problems were out on the table, including my latest problem, we started talking about solutions.
There are several very effective solutions to some of the problems I am having but only one that will solve all of them, a complete hysterectomy. I am only 32 so that was a concern that we talked about because in a complete hysterectomy they take it all out including the ovaries and when the ovaries are taken out if you haven't gone through menopause it sends you into it which means that hormone replacement comes into play. In some women my age it takes considerable time to get the hormone levels stabilized. This stabilization period can be very hard by causing unusual fatigue, moodiness, loss of libido and so on. Considering the problems I am having and have had for years my doctor says this is the only way to permanently stop them. I should go in for surgery in 3-5 weeks.
I am excited yet scared. I knew this was going to come eventually so it is better to get it over with sooner rather than later. I am excited because once it is done I don't have to worry about scheduling my life around what my feminine organs are doing. I am scared because it is a major surgery and there are some complications that can happen however, I have a wonderful doctor who has a very high success rate with all types of hysterectomies and other surgeries. Remember, this is a new doctor for me so I wasn't going to go to her without researching her medical background.
With all that being said, I would like to ask all of you to say a prayer for me. I will be posting the date of the surgery on here, I am sure as the date approaches I will be posting on my fears and concerns just to air them out. I will be out of work for four weeks. The good thing in all this is how wonderful my boss is being about it, I will have to save that for another post. I am working up until the surgery date so I don't have to worry about that, but I worried about the four weeks of recovery and my boss told me not too.
Okay, it is bed time for me, y'all have a great Friday!

the good and the not so good....
Hey! It feels like it has been a hundred years since I last had time to post something here. Last night I tried to stroll through my blog roll to try to catch up on everyone a little so I thought this morning I would post to catch you all up on what is going on here in my little corner of the world.
First off, as I am sure you all probably already know, we have been really busy with work, church, and doing all the kids things and I have had no time left to get online and visit. I do have some wonderful news though...remember me posting about applying for the part-time position over at the hospital initially? Well last Wednesday I got called to my bosses office and not only was my boss there but so was the other lady I interviewed with for the part time. The girl that got the part time position put her notice in because she needs more hours so they offered me the part time position, I started training that afternoon. The thing is that I can't completely step into the part time position until December 17 because the person that was hired to take my full time position in the file room has to graduate first and that will happen on December 15. So in the mean time I have to juggle both jobs in the forty hours I am allowed to work each week. I am so excited about the part time position and I can't wait to get to that point , on the other hand I am really going to miss the ladies I work with in the file room right now. I will still get to see them here and there but I will miss them none the less. I am just glad that everything worked out for everyone and all of us are happy with the end result, God sure does surprise me sometimes with the way He moves things around. Once I am in the part time position only I will be working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8-4:30 so that will give me two extra days a week to take care of my home and everything outside of work.
Normally I am not home on Tuesdays but today is different because I have a medical problem going on and I have orders from the doctor to stay home, stay off my feet, and get some rest until I go to my new doctor tomorrow afternoon. I have felt really terrible since this little medical episode started Friday night and not being able to go to work this morning or tomorrow makes me feel awful because right now we have one lady on vacation and we were stretched in the first place so I feel like I should be there but it is hard because I can't go so it makes me feel like I am pushing my responsibilities off on others but I can't help it because right now there is no way that I could be at work with what I am dealing with medically. Hopefully my new doctor will be ready to do something about this problem I am having and I won't have to worry about it anymore, however to make my medical problems go away would require a complete hysterectomy and at this point in the game I am all for it just so I don't have to deal with this anymore. My biggest fear is cancer if a hysterectomy is not preformed.
I think in my last post I mentioned that we are in a drought, well we are still in the drought. We are expecting some rain today, tomorrow and over the weekend but I will believe it is coming when I see it.
We are having wonderful temperatures though. As a matter of fact, on Thursday of last week we had to turn the heat on to knock the chill out of the house a bit and we left it on until Sunday night. Now I don't have the air or the heat on and I love it because you can open a window and enjoy the fresh air.
If you haven't already, go over and congratulate BSoholic on his marriage this weekend. I am so happy for him and his beautiful Nurse and I wish them the best!
I think I am going to sign off now and take my foot stool into the living room and watch some tv. Y'all have a great day and hopefully I can come back for a visit tomorrow.

thank God for Mondays ....
Good Monday morning ! Today is, as usual, my day off so I will have a bit of time between loads of laundry to read all those posts in my blog roll. Starting November 2 I will be off on Fridays for seven or nine weeks then change back to Mondays.
We have finally hit a cool down where our temps are concerned however, there is still no rain in our seven day forecast. In the town that I live in there is a mandatory water conservation right now due to no rain but we don't really have to abide by that because we get our water from a well, we are still going a bit easy on it because other people that use wells are having problems with them drying up. About the temps though, last night we hit the upper forties as a low and today our estimated high should reach somewhere around 80-82 and I do have to say that I am loving it because the hot three digit temps that we saw all through August and part of September were about to get to me.
Everything else in my life right now seems to be in a big ball that is being spun 'round and 'round. I am still adjusting and things are getting easier each week. My daughters Girl Scouting year has kicked in full force and they have things planned almost every single weekend through half of November but my daughter will not be participating in all of those things because it is getting ridiculously expensive. Each activity, except one, that they are doing is costing us from $35-$50, I informed my daughter that she needed to choose carefully on what she wants to do because we aren't doing them all. Aside from the cost I don't want every weekend taken up by one even after another so I refuse to let her participate in all of them, I would like some family time now and again. Friday my daughter will be leaving to go spend the night in Gatlinburg at Ripley's Haunted Mansion. It is known as Ripley's Haunted Adventure but we locals refer to it as the haunted mansion because that is what it looks like from the outside. One of the other trips I will let her go on is to an overnight lock-in at WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge, it is an amusement park for the mind.
I am going to try to make it around to all of your blogs today but if I don't make it I should be by Friday because I have taken Friday off to spend a long weekend with my family. The kids are on spring break next week and we have one lady on vacation that week so I can't take time off then.
Can you all believe that Halloween is just around the corner? This year has flown by it seems however, I have already started my Christmas shopping, I only have a few small things bought but at least it is a start, I plan on completing all of my shopping by the middle of November.
Well my dryer is once again buzzing so I need to go put those clothes away, y'all have a wonderful week!

all or nothing...
Yesterday I talked to my boss about the full-time position. She told me that she had to have a full-time person or the big guys would cut the position out completely, I completely understood this. I told her why full-time wasn't working for me and luckily she understood completely, as a matter of fact she was in the exact same situation back in the spring and it got so bad that she stressed over it so much that she had to be put on anti-depressants. Her advice to me was to pray about it and under no circumstances let myself get so stressed that I have to take meds over it.
I told her what really bothers me is that I don't want to let anyone down, myself included. Sometimes, it must be a freak rule in our human lives, we all at some point in life feel like we are Superhuman so we take on way more than we can handle and we get ourselves in a pickle such as I am in now. I honestly thought I could handle working full-time and doing everything else that I do for my church, my family, and my home but it is really starting to wear on me big time. I have dropped some pounds (a few lost pounds aren't going to hurt me) and I haven't changed a thing except I am on my feet all day in a different place other than my home. I do not want to quit this job because I love the job, I love the people however, the hours are making my life miserable because I have NO time for anything.
Yesterday my boss sent me home at 10 AM and told me to rest since I would be home alone for a while, she said that would also give me a time of peace to pray and think about my decision. When I got home I came in, changed clothes, poured a glass of sweet iced tea and then I went out on the front porch. I prayed, I cried, I prayed some more, I cried some more and then I came in and took a nap.
Despite the fact that last night was a late night since it was a church night, I woke up feeling at peace this morning. I thought about this situation all day today and I have pretty much made my decision but I am going to give it a few more days to pray and think some more to make sure that I really want it the way I have chose. I decided that I want to keep the job. I prayed about a job, the right job, for over a year so the way I see it God gave me this job. With that being said let me say that I came to the conclusion that if God gave me this job then He will see that everything falls in place in it's own due time so I am going to stick with it. The road may be hard but what road in life isn't, things will change eventually and I will pray my way through until that change comes. I do thank you all for listening to me.
Now on to other things....
I don't know if I mentioned it or not but a few weeks ago our church was having it's fall revival. On Thursday night of that revival my husband publicly announced his call to preach, meaning that he has been called by God to preach the word. I have known for two years that he had been called and I knew that he would be stepping out and announcing it soon but I wasn't expecting THAT night. Last night my husband brought his first message as an official preacher. The title of his message was "It Will Come to Pass" the message came out of the scripture Exodus 13: 1-3 & 8-19. I am so proud of my husband, he done a wonderful job. I have heard him bring messages before as a lay speaker but last night was different and it was good.
Does anyone have any good plans this weekend? We have a wedding to attend tomorrow night (Friday) and Saturday we are going on one of our family fall shopping trips, we are all looking forward to it, we will have a late lunch at our favorite Japanese steak house Wasabi's in Knoxville. I am going to finish the weekend off by cooking a big meal on Sunday after church. I haven't had time to make something good in a long time here at home so we have been eating out after church, this Sunday I will be baking a spiral ham, homemade mashed potatoes & gravy, garden green beans, broccoli cheese casserole, and we will round it up with our favorite dinner rolls. Cheesecake or homemade apple pie will wrap the meal all up, whatever dessert the kids want is what we will have. I am so excited about cooking a big meal because I haven't had time to in so long.
Well it is after 9 PM and bed time is coming around fast. Y'all have a wonderful weekend, be safe and take care!

Y'all have a wonderful weekend, be safe and take care!

and the truth shall set you free....
Hey all! It is once again Monday which is my day off, thank goodness. First off I will start with a weekend recap.
Friday we woke up to some much needed rain. It rained all day, at times it rained so hard that we couldn't see across the river from our office windows. I clocked out at 5:30 and went home. Some friends of ours has two little girls and one of their little girls birthday was Saturday so we decided to have her and Ty's birthday party together so that all the kids from church only had to attend one party. Friday night we met them for dinner then we went down and decorated the Fellowship Hall at church for the coming party. The party wasn't scheduled until 5 on Saturday so I got to sleep in that morning. I slept til 8 which is late to me after getting up at 4:30 each morning. I took two of my kids and went shopping for some small things to put in the little party gift bags we had then picked up the cake.
My son has been obsessed with football since last fall when my nephew played so he wanted a football birthday cake. I had the cake decorated like a football field and of course it was done in the orange and white that represents the Tennessee Vols. The party was a huge hit with all the kids, many presents were received and fun was had by all. After getting everything cleaned up we got home around 9:15 PM and I went straight to bed after unloading the van.
Yesterday was church day so all I done was go to church, eat lunch, nap, and then go back to church. Now I am going to brush on that truth thing I was talking about in the heading...
I love my job, I am not crazy about being there four days a week but I love the job and the people I work with however, I am finding it very hard to keep everything going at home while working. I like being out of the house some but now I am out more than I wanted in the first place. This is putting a strain on me because I don't really want to say anything to Mr. B about it. I did go to my boss and tell her that working until 5:30 everyday wasn't going to blow with me so now the only day that I work til 5:30 is on Friday, that helps but I am still struggling with my work at home.
Our evening schedules are full right now so as soon as I get home I have time to change then we head out the door again and don't get home until 9 or so and that leaves me no time to do laundry or anything because getting up at 4:30 means that I have to go to bed early. So for the past three weeks I have spent my day off (Monday) doing laundry. Mr. B and the kids are keeping everything else in the house going pretty much so that is not a big worry. When I have an extra hour here or there I throw a load of laundry in to get it done but still I am not liking the doing it all on Monday thing.
Here lately I am wondering if I made the right decision by taking a job outside of our home after working here for a little over six years. I am use to my laundry being done all the time and being cooped up in an office for 8 to 10 hours a day isn't my bag either. Four nights a week Mr. B cooks supper for me because even though I get off at 4 three days a week, it takes me forty five minutes to an hour to get home. We like to eat before 6pm each night so he normally does the cooking. His business is booming right now and I feel like I have just dumped all this extra crap in his lap since he is having to clean some, cook, take the kids to school and see that homework is done. This week he will be working extra late every night because he is working on a house that is getting 5800 square foot of hardwood flooring and it has to be done by next Thursday. By my husbands figuring, he will complete the job either this Friday or Monday. The thing that makes it hard to guess is that the wood is two and a quater inch strips of wood and there are a lot of cuts in the house.
Basically I am just feeling like I jumped a little to quickly into the "job" thing. I don't think that I considered just how much of a load I would be passing on to Mr. B. Don't get me wrong, I am not quitting my job because I do like it but I think I am going to have to talk to my boss again and go part time instead of full time. Part time is what I was looking for in the first place but took full time to get my foot in the door. The good thing is that I don't have to work so I don't have that "stuck" feeling. I also enjoy bringing home my own paycheck from an outside source. I get paid every two weeks and when I got my first check I was a bit surprised because I hadn't really calculated up what I would be making by my hourly wage. My money is direct deposited into a savings account that I have had for years, I may take out $50 and that is it, the rest of it stays in the bank and that makes me feel good knowing that our savings account is getting fatter every two weeks but still it doesn't make up for this lousy feeling I have right now. Oh well, everything will work itself out eventually.
The dryer is buzzing so I need to go hang and fold clothes, y'all have a great week !

Special wishes ......
I feel really terrible because I couldn't get this up earlier but I am just glad that I am here now.
Today has been a special day around my house. It is my son's 10th birthday! On each of our birthdays we get to choose the place to eat dinner and my son chose a local pizza place. We had a nice dinner filled with sports and arcade games.
Happy 10th Birthday Ty!
I love you!

my day off...

Until October 12th, Mondays will be my off day which means that I always have a three day weekend since I get my 40 hrs in four days. After Oct. 12 my day off will be Friday for seven weeks then I will switch back to Monday. The reason my schedule will be switching every seven weeks is because we have a college student that works there and her schedule changes every seven weeks.
We have a special birthday coming up this week, on Wednesday to be exact so expect to see a new post then. My son will be 10. I am still wondering where the heck time went, it seems like yesterday he was still an infant.
I have noticed that some of my clothes are starting to get lose on me, guess all that running around at work is making some weight fall off of me. I am not going to weigh myself just yet though because it is not an issue I have been worrying with so maybe if I just let it be I will continue to lose. Another change that I have noticed is that my hair is starting to get long. I had decided a few months ago to let it grow back out long again but I had forgot just how quickly my hair grows.
Work is going good, I have learned pretty much everything there is to learn about my job in the past three weeks and last week I actually had to train a student radiologist for two days. The only thing that I have a problem with are certain x-ray films that we hang on the viewer for the radiologists to view. Sometimes certain ones can throw me way off and I have to ask for help.
I never realized that bones are so beautiful until I started this job. I have saw some weird things on those film, one guy had a yo-yo in his pocket and it showed up clearly in the film. Last Wednesday I had to hang film of a baby, this was the first experience I had had with baby x-rays but it was so cool, you could look at the facial bones and tell that the baby was crying.
We took our youth group from church on a trip this past weekend. Friday night we stayed in some cabins overlooking the Little Pigeon River, then on Saturday we went to Dollywood. We had a blast and the girls talked me onto the new roller coaster up there. The Mystery Mine is the name, the pic at the beginning of the post is of The Mystery Mine. This ride is not so bad except in two different spots it literally lays you back and takes you straight up in the air. I am afraid of heights so I did not like that part. The loop you see in the pic is the last thing that happens before the ride is over, I can handle the upside down part just don't take me straight up in the air after laying me down. After each roller coaster ride all the kids would run to the picture booth to laugh at how funny everyone looked. When we got off of the Mystery Mine they were laughing at everyones face but was disappointed because my head was down, when they asked why I put my head down I told them that is what one is supposed to do while praying...heehee! The pic was taken while we were going down immediately after the ride had laid us back and took us up.
I didn't ride the Tennessee Tornado this time, I just couldn't get up the courage to do it. The part of that ride that scares me is the 128 foot drop straight down in the dark tunnel, I was afraid I would lose my cookies had I rode that one. If you click the link you can see the start of the 128 ft drop in the fourth pic. (shiver)
I have tried to make it around to everyones blogs today to comment and I don't know when I will be able to get back around so y'all take care!

these days...
We were finally able to mow our yard today. We have been hot and dry here in East Tennessee. My grass was beginning to turn brown and crispy, all the leaves were dying and falling off the trees..blech! Finally Thursday we had some rain, enough so that our grass is now growing again and green. Our trees are looking better too but the right side of my yard still looks like it is fall because there are brown and orange leaves all over the ground. Needless to say we are all going to have to try an Indian rain dance if we don't get more rain soon...heehee...if it comes to the dancing then I will be sure to take pics!
I am so disappointed with the Vols right now over our game Saturday. I knew it was going to be bad when Cal. got their first undeserved touchdown. Yep that is right, it shouldn't have been considered a touchdown but oh well I am not going to cry over it, there is always next week! I wish Tennessee would win the National Championship again, if they did I would have to send Lee Corso a personal video rubbing it in his face, that shriveled up, tight reared man makes me angry, he always expects negativity from the Vols and when they come out the victor he always uses some lame excuse why they won. I wished he could just give credit where it is due and I am not just talking about the Vols in that statement!
I only have to work three days this week because Friday we are taking our youth group from church to spend the night in some cabins in Pigeon Forge then we are going to Dollywood on Saturday, I am really looking forward to spending this time with our youth group because they are a great group of kids.
Today has been a great day because I got a lot done around the house and because I spent time with my family. I got all of my laundry done which was about to pile up on me since not only did I work and was sick last week but we also had revival at church all week last week so I didn't have time to do laundry or anything else. I had planned on washing my van but I as Mr. B was going out the back door I told him I would be out in a few minutes to help him with his van when I finished folding the basket of laundry in front me, it took a few minutes longer than I thought to fold the clothes then I got tied up on the phone and by the time I made it outside Mr. B was drying my van. I was so thankful for that and let him know it more than once. By Mr. B washing my van it gave me more time to clean the inside so I conditioned the leather and everything.. it sparkles all over now and smells wonderful! I was also able to clean and polish the windows inside..now I can see better!!
I still have that sinus, allergy, head cold thingy I was telling y'all about last week. I know I am on the down hill slide but it is still nerve racking or should I say rib and lung racking since the coughing has really started.
I miss y'all so much! I tried to get around to your blogs tonight when I had time but I don't think I even got halfway through my blog roll, I will get there when I can but the next couple of days aren't looking too promising because they are filled already from 4:30 in the morning until about 9:00 at night. Right now I am praying for regularity in my schedule, everything will be better once I get on a regular schedule and that should start next week.
Y'all have a great week, be safe and take care! :)

a little time...
Hey y'all ! I have tried to get around to comment on everyones blog today since I haven't been able to make my usual rounds in the past couple weeks. It is amazing at how much I miss being able to log on and visit your sites since I am working now. There is actually a lot I miss since I started working but I wouldn't go back to working at home any time soon, I love my job too much to do that.
Monday I had to go over to Employee Health to answer some normal "new hire" questions and to get my second TB skin test. I knew when I went over there that I would be getting another shot, either the Tetanus or Hepatitis B shot as well. Like any normal human on this earth, I too hate shots but they are better than getting sick. I had to have a second TB test because anyone who is a new hire and can't show proof of a negative TB test within the last twelve months, you have a second one even though your first was negative. I haven't had a Tetanus in twenty years. My last one was when I was twelve years old and I had that one because I was wearing those shoes that everyone called "jellies" and I stepped on a rusty nail, well twenty years ago was a long time and I try not to remember shots so I didn't remember that a Tetanus is pretty painful afterwards. Here is kind of how my conversation with the nurse went Monday regarding the Tetanus....
Nurse..do you remember that this shot is painful?
Me..it has been twenty years since I had one. Is it painful while getting it or afterwards?
Nurse..afterwards, your muscles will be sore and they will spasm and it is very uncomfortable, here is two Tylenol for you to take right now and that will help a bit. There are other side effects that could occur but we don't see them as often and they are nothing harmful or serious.
Me..okay.
So I get the shot, the stick of the needle didn't hurt nor did the liquid going into my arm but an hour later I felt like someone had nailed a sixteen penny nail in that spot. I had the shot at about 8:10 that morning and by noon I wasn't feeling so well. I felt draggy and basically like I had no strength left in my body but I kept moving and going. By the time I got off work at 4:30 that day my arm was even more sore and kind of numb feeling and my body was feeling battered. I went home took some Advil, went to church for revival, came home and went straight to bed.
On Tuesday I knew immediately when I woke up at 4:30am to get ready for work that it was not going to be a good day. I felt like I had been ran over by a big Mac truck and my arm felt like a useless piece attached to my body. On the way to work I couldn't believe how bad I felt but I just kept going. Once at work after a couple hours had passed my co-worker D asks me if I am alright. I told her I just wasn't feeling well but I would be alright. After that D kept asking me if I was okay about every half hour and I replied the same every time. Finally around 1:20pm D asks if I am sure I am alright and I told her that I wasn't feeling well at all and I felt like I was getting the flu. D then told me that I looked awful and that my coloring was getting paler and paler, she then said that we needed to call our boss and see if I could go home. While we were waiting for our boss to call one of D's friends that works in a different department in the hospital called and D was telling her about me not feeling well. The friend then asks if I had had a Tetanus shot in the last day or so. Come to find out one of the side effects of the Tetanus is flu like symptoms. My boss told me to go home and get some rest. Once home I went to bed and I was probably asleep before my head hit the pillow. I was off today so I had some time to relax but it seems that not all of my problem was just the side effects from the shot, my allergies are on full force blow out right now so I feel as if I have been beaten about my head. Next Tuesday I have to back to E.H. and get the first installment of Hepatitis B shots that I volunteered for, I just hope that it goes smoother than this one, I am glad that a Tetanus shot is good for ten years!
While I was scrolling through all of your blogs tonight I ran across one that was so sweet. TC was giving out awards and myself along with some others received the Inspirational Blogger Award. Thank you TC for your kind words about me, they really touched my heart!
Well it is getting late and I have to get up at 4:30 in the morning so I need to get to sleep. Y'all have a good day and a HHNT! I miss y'all !

what a week!!
I am wiped out and there is no other way to say it. Before I get any farther with this post I want to thank Shari for awarding me with the "Rockin' Girl Blogger" award. This is what she said about me "she's a breath of fresh air and so likeable. She talks to you like you are one of her friends". Isn't that sweet! Thank you so much Shari for awarding me with the Rockin' Girl Blogger Award.
I want to apologize to all of you for not making over to read your blogs this week but basically this week has been a week not worth repeating. As you know I started my job with orientation on Monday, a class on Tuesday then yesterday (Wed.) I went in for a regular day. I love my job, I love the people I work with but the hours are going to take some time to get use to. Every one in the hospital that I have came in contact with are extremely nice, they treat you as if you they have known you for years and it is like one huge family over there. We have this huge office that is filled with rows of files, everything is kept in a certain order and very organized. The view over the river is breath taking especially first thing in the morning. My days are starting at 4:30am when I get up and they end around 6:20-6:30pm when I get home. It takes me about forty five minutes to drive there because I hit several areas along the way that are congested or have low speed limits for various reasons. Then it takes about eight to ten minutes to walk from where I park to the office I work in. Even though I have only been in the office for two full days, I pretty much have the two computer systems down pat. I haven't been afraid to sit and play with the comp. systems so I have learned fast.
Have you ever really got to look at X-Ray films at all? They are cool! Part of my job description is to load the film on to the reader so that the dr.s can come in and read them, Yesterday I was unloading the hanger and I was really examining each one because there is a certain way they have to be loaded and there is a certain way they have to be taken down and put in the file. Ms. B was showing me the ropes on this procedure and we had saw one of a woman that had sometime in the past had a mastectomy on her left breast and she had had an implant put in, that looked like a jelly fish on the film. Another woman had not removed her earrings or necklace and these pieces of jewelry looked like they were suspended in the air several inches above the bones, pretty neat actually anyways, this one I was looking at was of a male and I could see his necklace but there was something down around his pelvic area. Ms. B said all of the sudden, I wonder why this dude is carrying a yo yo in his pocket? I laughed til I nearly cried when I realized that she was very serious, upon closer inspection I saw that the object in his pocket was indeed a yo yo. Until yesterday I never knew how pretty bones can be.
Speaking of breast, on October 20 my two daughters and I are volunteering to work a stand at the Race for Cure. The department I work in volunteers for all kinds of things every year and my daughters and I are excited to be doing this.
Sometime this weekend I will get by to read your blogs and again I apologize for not being there already but my time is very limited. Last night I got home at 6:20 pm, I walked in the house and went straight to my room to change for church. As soon as we got home from church I put my pj's on, washed my face, brushed my teeth and then went to bed.
Have a beautiful day!

Orientation and my new job....
Hey all! I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Yesterday I started my new job, actually I started my one and a half day of orientation. It was a long day and I have never had so much information pumped into my brain in seven hours before but it turned out to be a good day. Every one that was in orientation seemed to mix pretty good, of course we had people that were going every where, some of them will be working in our other facilities in other counties. Even though we were given a lot of info yesterday, unbelievably, the most of it stuck with me. I understood and remember the majority of everything they said. I have already chosen the plan for health insurance that I am going with along with the dental and vision however, I can't officially enroll for the insurance until this coming Friday when HR gets all of our info logged into the computer. With the plan that I chose, our insurance will be effective as of September 1, 2007 and this blew my mind because most places you have to wait 90 days before receiving benefits.
Today I had to go in at 8:30 for a class that was only three hours long then we broke for lunch and after lunch we were supposed to report to our department. When I got to my department they told me that my manager was out of town and would be back tomorrow so they showed me some of the things I will be doing then I came home. I really, really, really like the three ladies that I will be working with. One of my co-workers told me today that we were one of the busiest offices in the offices with the E.R. being first. Busy means no idle time and the day will go by faster so that is a positive for me.
I will be working four days a week, ten hours most days. For the first seven weeks I will work Tuesday thru Friday then after that I will work Monday thru Thursday the next seven weeks. The reason my schedule will be rotating between Mondays and Fridays off every seven weeks is because we have a college student that works in our office and that is how her schedule works so she and I will be switching up every seven weeks.
Anyways, tomorrow I will report straight to my department and I will probably get off early because next week is looking like a 50hr week because I have to fill in for one of the ladies that works there now, she has a doctors appointment Monday.
Well, I am going to get off here and get a couple small loads of laundry done so that I don't have to worry about them later. Y'all have a wonderful day, be safe and take care!

I love Friday's...
Friday has always been one of my favorite days of the week because it is just a good day. Most people are in a good mood on Friday because they know they don't have to get up early and report to work or whatever. For me Friday means it is time to stand back, let out a huge relieving sigh that says "got this one down and I have two days to get ready for the next one". This coming week is a big one for me as I have been saying. I start my new job on Monday and I am very excited to get this chapter in my life started and get settled in to it. I have been told by some of the other hospital workers that Monday will be the most boring day because I will be in orientation, they say Tuesday will be better because instead of just orientation I have a four hour class to attend, either way I am ready. After class on Tuesday I report to my department and get going with my training.
I never watch that much tv but I think that I have watched more tv this week than I have in the past two years. I decided that since I am going back out into the work force next week that I would take this week to chill at home, that is right, my schedule has been cleared of everything and let me tell you it has felt weird, in a good way of course. I will say that I am glad I don't have many weeks like this because I am not one to and do nothing for day after day.
Anyways, let me get back on subject here about my tv watching....
I have always been different than other people in a way because I have this thing with the weather. I like to know at all times what is being predicted for that day and the days to come, why I didn't become a meteorologist is beyond me. Also anytime that something like the Utah mine collapse happens I always keep up with that and last night was no different. I have been watching the updates since the collapse was first made known. Now I don't sit in front of the tv watching all day long for what is going on, instead I carry on with my day and periodically flip the channel over to find out if there are any updates. Last night my daughter was flipping through the channels when she yelled for me to come and to hurry. Yesterday evening the rescue workers experienced a seismic bump or bounce as they call it. The bump caused the walls to blow out in the area the rescuers were working in. It took about an hour before reporters could tell if all of the ambulances and the life flight helicopters were for rescuers or if perhaps the six trapped miners may have been found. From the reports coming in, the mountain where Crandall Canyon Mine is located was moving and shifting all day long yesterday which caused quiet of few bumps and one of those bumps caused the walls to shoot coal in every direction and creating a collapse in a much smaller magnitude than the one that trapped the original six miners. In this collapse nine miners were injured and taken to a hospital, three of those injured rescuers died. I feel for the remaining rescuers, families, friends, all the authorities up there because everyday they have faced new problems and they just keep on going at it and continue to do so until all six of the trapped miners have been rescued dead or alive. Those miners have been trapped for twelve days now and some are beginning to lose hope but I do know that a rescue at this point doesn't mean they are all dead, it doesn't mean that they are alive either but the possibility of them being alive is still there. In Tasmania , May 2006, two trapped miners were rescued after being trapped for fourteen days. January 1983 in northeast China, two miners were rescued after twenty three days trapped in a mine. I know that it all depends on conditions and all that but I am hoping that they can rescue these guys without anymore complications or tragedies and that all six of the miners are alive, I am sure everyone else feels the same way.
Starting Monday I will be posting at night because I will be getting up at 4:30AM each morning and the computer is going to be the last thing I think of. With that being said, y'all have a good day, be safe, take care and God Bless You!

hump day...
Is it just me or are our weeks going by fast? It is funny because when you want a week to go by fast it creeps and creeps until it feels like you have spent half of eternity in that week alone. Either way I am not going to complain this week because I have cleared my schedule so that I can be at home all week since I start work next week. I haven't really known this week what to do because every thing is clean except for the usually one or two loads of laundry that I do daily and that doesn't take long so I have had time on my hands and it is a very weird thing for me. I tried to take a nap yesterday morning but that didn't work out so I just rested on the couch and watched some tv. That felt real good since I am not feeling the greatest, thanks to allergies and whatnot.
I have mentioned before about my habit of reading church signs as I drive by, well there is a church right beside my daughters high school and I really like their sign this week. It says "peace is not the absence of conflict, peace is the presence of God", for me that is very true. I have found that peace and it makes life a lot easier to deal with, yes I still have problems and conflicts but they don't weigh on me as they use to. Last week our church sign read "PRAY is a four letter word that you can use anywhere except in school" needless to say I really liked that one and I will tell you something else, we have taught our kids to pray and they have witnessed how prayer has worked in our lives. My kids pray over their food before eating it, and through out the day if they feel the need. No one will ever not allow my kids to pray because my kids can say a quick prayer while sitting at their desk and no one around would even know it. If the school has a problem with my kids praying then we are going to have an even bigger problem when Mr. B and I get there. I think if kids keep it to themselves and don't try to convert everyone or make everyone else pray then they should be able to pray quietly in school. We have been lucky thus far and have got teachers that believe in prayer, no that doesn't mean that the teachers make all students pray but the ones that do believe in prayer can pray without bothering anyone. Like I said, my kids have saw how prayer has worked in our lives so nothing will keep them from praying if they feel so inclined to do so. My kids are not going to stop praying just because some hell-bound atheist doesn't want to be in the presence of someone praying. Okay, enough about that before I get good and wound up! The last thing I will say is that Mr. B done our church sign this week and I like it to however I will not elaborate on it, the sign says "One nation under God....What's happened"?
We are looking at another 100 degree day here, nothing new really. I got up this morning and went out to smoke on the porch, it was like 67 out there and I thought I was going to freeze to death..lol. Some schools in the surrounding counties here have been having to shut down half a day because their air conditioning systems not working properly due to heat, all I can say is that I am ready for fall and the beautiful colors it brings, the cooler temps will be a welcome addition as well.
Speaking of smoking, I had posted about quitting before we moved to my parents house in February. Both of my parents and my sister smoke plus we were building a house at that time so I didn't think that was a great time to try but now it is weighing very heavy on me so starting Monday I will be taking steps to lay them down for good. I wanted to wait until a time that I knew I wouldn't be setting myself up for failure and I think that time is now. First off I have been under conviction about my smoking for a couple of months, second off there is a new smoking ban that will be taking effect in Tennessee on October 1, the ban states that there can be no smoking in enclosed public places. The ban is actually called Non-Smoker Protection Act and it was created for the workplace. You can go here to read more about it if you want. Anyways, since I will be working at the hospital and I won't be able to smoke, actually I won't have time to smoke, I am going to quit and hopefully do so on my own, I have already talked to my doctor about my options if I can't do it on my own and we have decided that if I need a bit of help he will prescribe Chantix. Chantix has very successful results so far, I am hoping that I don't need it but I can't say that I won't. With that being said, those of you who pray I would appreciate at it if you could say a small prayer for me next week and those of you who don't pray then please cross your fingers for me or send me some good positive non-smoking vibes! LOL!
Y'all have a beautiful day and don't get to hot out there!

this, that, and some more Tuesday...

My kids were in a really good mood this morning, when I squealed the tires on my mini-van pulling out onto the main road they loved it and that just pumped their mood up more. It is really hard to see if cars are coming from the left when pulling out onto the main road here because it is a big curve and this morning I was half-way out when here comes a little nissan flying , I was already half in the road so instead of stopping I hit the accelerator which caused my back tires to spin in the gravel then catch on the pavement and leave black marks. All three of my kids were like " that is so cool mom, I didn't know you could burn rubber in a mini-van" , so hopefully after this morning they will quit giving me a hard time about the mini-van.
I got a surprising phone call yesterday from my 18yr old cousin. He is in the Marines and he is currently stationed in Hawaii, it was so good to talk to him. He said they were buckling down and getting ready for Hurricane Flossie but I was a bit concerned when I got up this morning and heard on the news that there was an earthquake over there during the night however, no one was hurt. The meteorologists say that Hawaii will not take a direct hit from Flossie, instead the Hurricane should move by just south of the big island and that is good news even though I know that they will still have to deal with the winds and rains from the hurricane. Hawaii has been in a very bad drought state so the rain is much needed and that is what concerns me. Either way I know that my cousin will be taken care of.
Girl Scouts has started up again and they are going full force. My daughter had a meeting last night and they are having a parents meeting tonight and I can't attend because I have to go sing with my church choir at another church. Ms. D, the troop leader, told me that there is a lot of paper work and she will just send it home for me to read over.
I don't know about anyone else but this heat is reeking havoc on my allergies and sinuses. For the past two days my stomach has been upset from the drainage and after I wake up, even with allergy meds, it takes me about four or five hours to get "cleared" up which isn't much better.
The trapped miners in Utah has been weighing heavy on my mind for the past week. It must take a different kind of person to be able to work those mines knowing that they could collapse. I couldn't do it because I do not like small, dark, closed in places, I get a little panicky just watching the coverage of the men working to remove the rubble on tv. It is pitiful but I am more than just a bit claustrophobic. I pray that this third hole they are digging will reveal more about those six men and I pray for them and their families and those that are trying to rescue them.
Starting this coming Monday, the 20th, I will be posting at night instead of morning. I will be getting up at 4:30AM to get ready for work because it takes me almost an hour drive from here to there. The reason it takes so long to drive is because the route I take has a school zone and several congested areas where the speed limit is 20-30 MPH, however this route is much quicker than if I were to hit the highway then exit off on the Cumberland Strip that runs right through the University of Tennessee campus then I would turn right onto a huge bridge called the Henley Street Bridge. The pic above is actually the Henley St. Bridge and the hospital I will be working at is to the left immediately after crossing the bridge however the employee parking lot is on the right after crossing the bridge. I especially don't think I could cross it after the bridge collapse in Minneapolis.
Well I think I will sign off for now and get things done around here. Y'all have a beautiful day, be safe and take care!

finally...I have some time
It has been a day let me tell you! I started my day by going for my physical and drug test for my new job. I, not that I was doubting it, passed my physical with flying colors. The drug test doesn't worry me either because I don't do drugs, however the drawing my blood part I have never liked, does anyone? The lab tech that took my blood was good and knew what she was about, of course I have very good veins so that helps, but for some reason when she stuck the needle in my arm I almost came off the chair. I have never had the bad sting that I had today when my blood has been drawn in the past, the lab tech said maybe it was just the way she went in with the needle. I also had to have a TB test done, I had forgot how the bubble forms under you skin when they inject you. Anyway, I made it through all that just fine and now all I have to do is wait for the 20th to get here so that I can attend orientation then a class on the 21st then I be on my regular schedule.
I went to my Papaw's house today to see what all my parents have done down there. They are remodeling it because they are going to rent it out, they have two other properties they rent out and they didn't want that house to just sit there. Everything is looking so good, Mamaw and Papaw would love the new changes if they could see them. My parents still have some of the things they inherited in the front living room or as the family has always called it "the front room", the room was added on to the house sometime before I was born. Anyways, my mom and I were down there going through some things and it all brought back so many memories. My Mamaw never received a gift that she didn't write on a piece of paper who gave the gift and the date it was given. My mom ran across this pretty pink glass bowl that she and my dad had bought Mamaw years ago and since pink is my favorite color and I like dainty and delicate pieces my mom gave the bowl to me, one day I will take a picture of it and post it. My mom also gave me Mamaw's quilt rack. It is a rack that you display quilts on (just in case you didn't know) and I have several quilts that my mom has made me that I need to display, they are way to pretty to be in a linen closet with the rest of the blankets and linens.
It seems I have been walking down memory lane a lot lately, I don't know if it is because the one year anniversary of my aunts death is getting closer or what but I can't seem to get all of these memories out of my head and everything around me brings back memory after memory. Sometimes I wish I could just close my eyes and go back to a time in my past of my choosing for ten minutes. Sunday morning my oldest daughter and I sang at church and that brought back a memory of me sitting at Mamaw's feet in the floor while she sang gospel songs to me and taught me how to sing them, I believe that it is Mamaw that I need to thank for my love of music and singing.
When the kids get out of school tomorrow they will have completed their first week of school. They are all happy with their teachers and schedules and that makes me happy. Last year my oldest daughter wasn't happy with her algebra teacher. She came home with almost 200 problems for homework each night for that class. I thought maybe my daughter didn't like the teacher because she was a bit more strict than most teachers but I have found out that it isn't just my daughter, you can ask some of this teachers previous students if they know her and her name alone still puts a look of fear in their eyes and I am talking people that went to school with me.
We only have one event planned for the weekend which is a Princess birthday party for a very special five year old friend of ours on Saturday, other than that the only thing I have planned is to go back over to the lab at the hospital and get my TB test read. The remainder of the weekend I am going to laze around on the couch while watching tv, well except for Sunday and we will go to church.
I am going to be making my rounds to all of your blogs tomorrow morning sometime. I feel really guilty because I haven't had time to get around so I do apologize for that but you will be seeing me soon!
I am going to go and get some sleep, I have a lot to get done while the kids are at school tomorrow, which is why I am post on a Thursday night instead of in the morning. Y'all have a wonderful day and stay inside as much as possible especially to those who are experiencing the same high temps that we are. Good night!
They are all happy with their teachers and schedules and that makes me happy. pop in and popping back out
Hey all ! I wanted to sign in real quick to let you know that I was offered the position I interviewed for and I accepted it. I start work on August 20. I will be working Mon-Thurs 7AM-5:30PM and I am very excited, the view of the river from this office makes it all worth while and that isn't including the two wonderfully nice women I will be working with, this is something that I am so ready to do because I feel like I am slowly finding my place in the world.
The kids started back to school yesterday morning, my son was so nervous he threw up in the parking lot...(sad face). I took him on in and made him clean his mouth and face then I took him to his room. I told his teacher of his little accident and she, thank goodness, had some peppermints which calm upset or nervous stomachs. The good thing was that my son didn't even get so much as a spatter on him so he was okay. He loved his new teacher and his best friend is in his class this year so that made him happy. Both of my girls were very happy with their schedules and classes, they both signed up for volley ball. My middle child will be playing at the middle school if she makes it and my oldest one will be managing the high school team so I am proud of them for that. I was surprised that B, my middle child, signed up for try-outs because even though she is atheletic she is shy and that has kept her from sports.
Things are real busy here especially since I am trying to get everything in order so that we don't have chaos when I start work. I am at our local library right now because I am having a problem with my cable modem, the problem should be corrected by the end of this week, or I hope it is anyway.
Y'all have a wonderful week and I hope to be back up and running at home in the next few days! I will do my best to get around to all of your blogs as soon as I am available to.
xoxo,

I've got to quit this!
It seems these days that the time between my posts keeps getting longer and longer. I need to take fifteen minutes each night to post even if it is just something silly. I also need to take a few extra minutes to read or at least come comment on all of the blogs in my blog roll. When I don't have time to read and comment the blogs on my blog roll I feel guilty about it, do any of you ever feel that way? Kind of like you are neglecting your friends. The bad thing is that I can't promise at this point to do better. By the time I have free time at night I am too tired to sit down and get on the computer. I will try to do better.
About the job interview that I had last Monday, I was the one they wanted until someone else showed up wanting the job and they were kind of hard pressed not to give it to her considering her mother has major "pull" around there. No big deal because the lady that interviewed me knew of another position that was open so she put me in touch with the supervisor over that department, I had an interview Friday and I should hear today or tomorrow whether I have the job, my chances are very good at this point. The new position I was interviewed for is still in the medical imaging department, the new position is a full time position instead of a part time but that is okay to. Now the ball is rolling I am not going to stop it because I am ready to work outside of our home again. I think working here and just being here a lot is part of the reason for my "cleaning" problem, I see it all the time so the house never looks clean to me even after I have just cleaned it, ladies you know what I am talking about.
The office I will be working in, if I get the position that is, has a beautiful view of the Tennessee River. The good thing about the office is that it is on the first floor and that is good because I am afraid of heights and often times I can't look out of windows when I am above four floors or I start freaking out. I am really excited about it and ready to start if I am hired.
There is no denying that August is finally here. Our temps have went up along with the humidity. You can't walk outside without getting all sweaty and feeling sticky and gross, thank God for air conditioning! This is the time of year that I refuse to wear foundation on my face because it just melts off, rather I sweat it off but you get my point. I am not a bad sweater either but during August it seems that is all I do. I will admit that I am ready for the crisp cool air and beautiful multi colored leaves that fall will bring.
One thing I should have done Friday was sign in and post some special wishes to a special girl in my life. My middle child, Bethany, turned 12 Friday. She finally received the IPOD she has been asking for since Christmas, if you were around her you would think that we presented her with a bar of gold instead of an IPOD. So with all of that being said I would like to say....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOD BLESS YOU BETHANY,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!
I LOVE YOU!
Y'all have a wonderful Monday, be safe and take care!

take this job and stuff it....
I am just now getting around to posting this even though I promised it would be posted yesterday. I was very busy with getting the kids registered for school yesterday and I had a job interview for the hospital at two o'clock that lasted two hours, things are looking real good for me job wise but I will tell you about that later.
I have worked for my husband for several years now. I have not worked outside of our home for about six years and before that I still took care of all the paperwork for the business. My husbands business started out eleven years ago as a small scale mowing business ,then the business became a remodeling business plus Mr. B became quiet popular for building huge, beautiful, sturdy back decks. A contractor from a neighboring county happened to see one of the decks my husband had built and he decided he had to hire Mr. B to build decks on the new houses in the subdivision he was building.
The first time I ever "quit" on Mr. B was while building a deck for this contractor. It was on a big two-story house that was closing in like three days. We had been having terrible thunderstorms that year and it seemed there was never enough of a break in the rain to get down there and get the deck built. So the day we went down to build it the ground all around the newly built house was very muddy. I had on my regular work boots and on top of those I had on a pair of knee high wading boots. The deck was to go on up on the second story of the house in the back. Now first of all I am afraid of heights, second of all the boards were so water drenched that I couldn't hardly lift them let alone hold them while Mr. B bolted them to the side of the house.
I was very frustrated that day and Mr. B wasn't feeling well but the deck had to be done so there was no room for complaint. Where we were walking through the mud it was making it even more squishy and hard to manage. We picked up a big, heavy board and were trying to get it to the scaffolding when I stepped and sank to me knees in the mud. After many tries I was finally able to get my legs from the mud. I was ready to take a break but Mr. B was all about going on. I walked over to a bucket, sat down and lit a cigarette, opened my bottled water and took a huge drink, then I looked at Mr. B and I said " I quit"! Do it your own self big boy because I am done! Mr. B proceeded to tell me that I couldn't quit on him right then and I wasn't listening to any of it. We argued over it for about twenty minutes when it started thundering and lightning then raining really hard. I ended up helping Mr. B finish that deck a couple days later but that was the last deck I helped him build.
One day about three years ago I was working on the computer to create a more itemized invoice for our clients. Mr. B came in and inquired as to what I was I doing and once I told him he didn't like the idea at all. Actually it wasn't the idea he didn't like but the newly created invoice itself. We had a few intense moments of fellowship over that particular invoice so in the end I decided to create another invoice. The new one wasn't to my liking nor did our clients like it but Mr. B liked it. After some complaints from clients on the new invoice I changed back to the first , more itemized, invoice. Needless to say there were more intense moments of fellowship between Mr. B and I and eventually I got tired of arguing so I took the stack of newly printed invoices and threw them at Mr. B and told him he could take my job, the new invoices, his clients and anything else to do with his lousy business and he could stuff them where the sun don't shine!
After that little eruption Mr. B tried to do all of the paperwork and taxes that go along with running your own business, for about a week. A week was all it took for him to understand what I had to deal with. By the time he talked me back into doing the job once more he had everything so unorganized and messed up that I didn't think I was ever going to get it straightened out. With all of that being said let me tell you that Mr. B is a wonderful business man. However, he has so much on his mind all the time that concerns this job or that or the things he does at church, the things he needs to pick up for each job and so forth that he can't concentrate well on what he is doing which makes doing the paperwork hard for him. He can do it but it takes him three times as long to do it as it takes me. Mr B suffers from adult ADD and because of that when it comes to paperwork he doesn't really have good organizational skills. Now if we were able to move everything to his work van it would be precisely organized but not in our office if he is in charge. Since the day I started doing all of this for him again, I do not argue over invoices or the order of filing or anything else, I just tell Mr. B that it works best for me while I am doing it and as long as I do it then the files will be done in my order and so will everything else. Another stipulation was that Mr. B had to give me a raise for what I do for him and his business. When I say a raise I mean that he had to start giving me an actual weekly pay check because until then he had not done so. He gave me money of course because he and I run our marriage as a partnership therefore everything is equaled and shared in this house. Every week Mr. B writes me a check for the work that I do. All of our money goes to the same place each week/month but it makes me feel better when he gives me that check.
I mentioned in my last post that I was thinking about a job outside of our home. I also mentioned that a friend had called to tell me about an opening at a local hospital. I filled out the application online Friday and within thirty minutes I got a call back. Yesterday I had an interview at 2PM and it went very well. The job is between me and two other women so I am praying that I get it. The job is in medical imaging, if I get it I will be working the front desk in the office where mammograms are done. The actual job title is called a Women's Registrar which means that I greet the patients, put their info in the computer and their insurance info, I collect any film of previous mammograms and turn them over to the lab techs. Basically I will be a highly paid receptionist with a few added duties. The most important fact is that I will have full benefits even though I will be a part-time worker. I am mainly in it because number one the insurance is great plus I am ready to get outside of the house and work a while. My kids are growing up so fast and before I know it they will be grown and going their own way in life and there I will be still working in our home office and not really having my own thing. Everything I do in our office can be done the previous night so that won't bother anything if I do get the new job.
Okay, I need to go for now. I have all of our bed sheets in the washer and they are done.
Y'all have a good day!
