It has been a day let me tell you! I started my day by going for my physical and drug test for my new job. I, not that I was doubting it, passed my physical with flying colors. The drug test doesn't worry me either because I don't do drugs, however the drawing my blood part I have never liked, does anyone? The lab tech that took my blood was good and knew what she was about, of course I have very good veins so that helps, but for some reason when she stuck the needle in my arm I almost came off the chair. I have never had the bad sting that I had today when my blood has been drawn in the past, the lab tech said maybe it was just the way she went in with the needle. I also had to have a TB test done, I had forgot how the bubble forms under you skin when they inject you. Anyway, I made it through all that just fine and now all I have to do is wait for the 20th to get here so that I can attend orientation then a class on the 21st then I be on my regular schedule.
I went to my Papaw's house today to see what all my parents have done down there. They are remodeling it because they are going to rent it out, they have two other properties they rent out and they didn't want that house to just sit there. Everything is looking so good, Mamaw and Papaw would love the new changes if they could see them. My parents still have some of the things they inherited in the front living room or as the family has always called it "the front room", the room was added on to the house sometime before I was born. Anyways, my mom and I were down there going through some things and it all brought back so many memories. My Mamaw never received a gift that she didn't write on a piece of paper who gave the gift and the date it was given. My mom ran across this pretty pink glass bowl that she and my dad had bought Mamaw years ago and since pink is my favorite color and I like dainty and delicate pieces my mom gave the bowl to me, one day I will take a picture of it and post it. My mom also gave me Mamaw's quilt rack. It is a rack that you display quilts on (just in case you didn't know) and I have several quilts that my mom has made me that I need to display, they are way to pretty to be in a linen closet with the rest of the blankets and linens.
It seems I have been walking down memory lane a lot lately, I don't know if it is because the one year anniversary of my aunts death is getting closer or what but I can't seem to get all of these memories out of my head and everything around me brings back memory after memory. Sometimes I wish I could just close my eyes and go back to a time in my past of my choosing for ten minutes. Sunday morning my oldest daughter and I sang at church and that brought back a memory of me sitting at Mamaw's feet in the floor while she sang gospel songs to me and taught me how to sing them, I believe that it is Mamaw that I need to thank for my love of music and singing.
When the kids get out of school tomorrow they will have completed their first week of school. They are all happy with their teachers and schedules and that makes me happy. Last year my oldest daughter wasn't happy with her algebra teacher. She came home with almost 200 problems for homework each night for that class. I thought maybe my daughter didn't like the teacher because she was a bit more strict than most teachers but I have found out that it isn't just my daughter, you can ask some of this teachers previous students if they know her and her name alone still puts a look of fear in their eyes and I am talking people that went to school with me.
We only have one event planned for the weekend which is a Princess birthday party for a very special five year old friend of ours on Saturday, other than that the only thing I have planned is to go back over to the lab at the hospital and get my TB test read. The remainder of the weekend I am going to laze around on the couch while watching tv, well except for Sunday and we will go to church.
I am going to be making my rounds to all of your blogs tomorrow morning sometime. I feel really guilty because I haven't had time to get around so I do apologize for that but you will be seeing me soon!
I am going to go and get some sleep, I have a lot to get done while the kids are at school tomorrow, which is why I am post on a Thursday night instead of in the morning. Y'all have a wonderful day and stay inside as much as possible especially to those who are experiencing the same high temps that we are. Good night!

Congrats on the new job! The office sounds like a great environment and sounds like the full time position was meant to be, hm?
Logo..yes it does! I am so excited about getting out of the house and working else where.
Breazy, I know what you mean about memories flooding in. That happens to me every now and then and some of them just stop me dead in my tracks. How I long to go back to those simpler days.
But life is good now too. Have a great weekend Breazy! xoxo
Dan...I agree that is good now too, I just hope that my kids grow up with good memories of their grandparents and it stops them in their tracks one day.
You have a good weekend too!
xoxo
I am glad that you are finally going for taht job! I wish you all the luck! :)
Ah! i know about bad maths teacher too. Sometimes they would make th children dislike the subject even!
When I had a TB test done last fall, I had to have a second one, too, about a few weeks later. I was never tested for it before so that's why. I also had blood drawn to test for antibodies of communicable diseases. Turned out I had to take a mumps shot. I never had one. Don't even ask. Long story.I had an externship at the hospital in the office. I really like the medical records department and coding best.
Ah, memories. Aten't they grand?
