Orientation and my new job....

Hey all! I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Yesterday I started my new job, actually I started my one and a half day of orientation. It was a long day and I have never had so much information pumped into my brain in seven hours before but it turned out to be a good day. Every one that was in orientation seemed to mix pretty good, of course we had people that were going every where, some of them will be working in our other facilities in other counties. Even though we were given a lot of info yesterday, unbelievably, the most of it stuck with me. I understood and remember the majority of everything they said. I have already chosen the plan for health insurance that I am going with along with the dental and vision however, I can't officially enroll for the insurance until this coming Friday when HR gets all of our info logged into the computer. With the plan that I chose, our insurance will be effective as of September 1, 2007 and this blew my mind because most places you have to wait 90 days before receiving benefits.

Today I had to go in at 8:30 for a class that was only three hours long then we broke for lunch and after lunch we were supposed to report to our department. When I got to my department they told me that my manager was out of town and would be back tomorrow so they showed me some of the things I will be doing then I came home. I really, really, really like the three ladies that I will be working with. One of my co-workers told me today that we were one of the busiest offices in the offices with the E.R. being first. Busy means no idle time and the day will go by faster so that is a positive for me.

I will be working four days a week, ten hours most days. For the first seven weeks I will work Tuesday thru Friday then after that I will work Monday thru Thursday the next seven weeks. The reason my schedule will be rotating between Mondays and Fridays off every seven weeks is because we have a college student that works in our office and that is how her schedule works so she and I will be switching up every seven weeks.

Anyways, tomorrow I will report straight to my department and I will probably get off early because next week is looking like a 50hr week because I have to fill in for one of the ladies that works there now, she has a doctors appointment Monday.

Well, I am going to get off here and get a couple small loads of laundry done so that I don't have to worry about them later. Y'all have a wonderful day, be safe and take care!
