I love Friday's...

Friday has always been one of my favorite days of the week because it is just a good day. Most people are in a good mood on Friday because they know they don't have to get up early and report to work or whatever. For me Friday means it is time to stand back, let out a huge relieving sigh that says "got this one down and I have two days to get ready for the next one". This coming week is a big one for me as I have been saying. I start my new job on Monday and I am very excited to get this chapter in my life started and get settled in to it. I have been told by some of the other hospital workers that Monday will be the most boring day because I will be in orientation, they say Tuesday will be better because instead of just orientation I have a four hour class to attend, either way I am ready. After class on Tuesday I report to my department and get going with my training.

I never watch that much tv but I think that I have watched more tv this week than I have in the past two years. I decided that since I am going back out into the work force next week that I would take this week to chill at home, that is right, my schedule has been cleared of everything and let me tell you it has felt weird, in a good way of course. I will say that I am glad I don't have many weeks like this because I am not one to and do nothing for day after day.

Anyways, let me get back on subject here about my tv watching....

I have always been different than other people in a way because I have this thing with the weather. I like to know at all times what is being predicted for that day and the days to come, why I didn't become a meteorologist is beyond me. Also anytime that something like the Utah mine collapse happens I always keep up with that and last night was no different. I have been watching the updates since the collapse was first made known. Now I don't sit in front of the tv watching all day long for what is going on, instead I carry on with my day and periodically flip the channel over to find out if there are any updates. Last night my daughter was flipping through the channels when she yelled for me to come and to hurry. Yesterday evening the rescue workers experienced a seismic bump or bounce as they call it. The bump caused the walls to blow out in the area the rescuers were working in. It took about an hour before reporters could tell if all of the ambulances and the life flight helicopters were for rescuers or if perhaps the six trapped miners may have been found. From the reports coming in, the mountain where Crandall Canyon Mine is located was moving and shifting all day long yesterday which caused quiet of few bumps and one of those bumps caused the walls to shoot coal in every direction and creating a collapse in a much smaller magnitude than the one that trapped the original six miners. In this collapse nine miners were injured and taken to a hospital, three of those injured rescuers died. I feel for the remaining rescuers, families, friends, all the authorities up there because everyday they have faced new problems and they just keep on going at it and continue to do so until all six of the trapped miners have been rescued dead or alive. Those miners have been trapped for twelve days now and some are beginning to lose hope but I do know that a rescue at this point doesn't mean they are all dead, it doesn't mean that they are alive either but the possibility of them being alive is still there. In Tasmania , May 2006, two trapped miners were rescued after being trapped for fourteen days. January 1983 in northeast China, two miners were rescued after twenty three days trapped in a mine. I know that it all depends on conditions and all that but I am hoping that they can rescue these guys without anymore complications or tragedies and that all six of the miners are alive, I am sure everyone else feels the same way.

Starting Monday I will be posting at night because I will be getting up at 4:30AM each morning and the computer is going to be the last thing I think of. With that being said, y'all have a good day, be safe, take care and God Bless You!

James...Thank you! Yes it is horrible and now they have had to stop the underground rescue so that more miners aren't killed or injured, very sad thing.

Sal...Thanks, yeah I wanted time to get settled before starting so I took the week off, it will probably be the last one I have for a long time to come so I enjoyed it. Thanks, you too!

Yes, I know what you mean by what a tragedy it is for the miners. I can't even imagine what their families are going through...
