Halloween...

Once again it is that time of year , Halloween . I have on my hands a Corpse Bride and small but cute Marine with a mean looking gun . I love this time of year because of all the scary movies they put on tv. During the month of October each year , I always watch one channel more than the others , The Disney Channel . I love that channel , which is a good thing since my kids aren't allowed to watch just anything . I really like it because it shows the halloweeny kind of movies but they are fun and don't scare the kids into my bed at night . A couple of our favorite movies on Disney are , of course , Hocus Pocus (who doesn't love that movie ?) , Tower of Terror and there are some others .

This time of year is my favorite because of all the pretty colors . Last week when I went to Manchester , Ky I was at a loss of words because there were no fall decorations . NONE ! I couldn't believe it , that little town looks like someone just cut a couple of roads out of the middle of a rock mountain . The leaves are absolutely beautiful right now but still , there were no fall decorations . I know that not everyone is like myself and go crazy decorating for fall but couldn't they at least put a corn stalk arrangement in the front yard ? Or a colorful leaf arrangement sticker on their front door ? or maybe a fall colored wreath ? You can't even see half of my front door right now because of the huge pumpkin that is hanging on my door and after tonight that will come down and a fall colored wreath will go up . Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because all the family gathers together for a day of eathing and fellowshipping , what , I ask you , is better than that ? Last year I cooked Thanksgiving dinner here but I have asked my mom to do it this year because that is just the way it has always been and I am looking forward to spending the day with my family because I don't get to see them as often as I would like .

Well , I need to sign off and get busy since tonight is all booked up . Y'all have a wonderful day and watch out for all the little ghosts, ghouls , goblins , witches and other mean looking creatures.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!!

homeowner ... who me ?

Thursday morning at 10am my husband and I became official homeowners . That's right , we signed the building contract finally ! The construction should start sometime within the next 3-8 weeks . I thought I was going to get sick all over the finance manager while signing those papers because I was sooooo excited and scared all at the same time . Our finance manager told us that feeling sick was a normal thing even when it wasn't the first time . That made me feel better !

I am excited but it is a huge step that we have never taken before so I wanted to make sure that everything was right and in order . It took us almost two hours to sign because I was reading every word that was wrote on each piece of paper . Now I just want to see some dirt turned over and a foundation popping up . When all was said and done and it was put on the contract , we financed almost $4,000 cheaper than the original amount we thought we would be financing , that sure puts a big smile on my face ! Anyways, that is what is going on in my life so expect to start seeing some construction pics on here because as I am going through this new ,exciting time in my life , y'all are going to go through it with me and see what I see , hear my feelings and all that good stuff !

Be safe , take care and have a wonderful day !!!!!

time for a business trip ...

Hey all ! I wanted to stop by and let you all know that I will be leaving first thing in the morning (tuesday) for a small business trip . For those of you wondering , I work at home for my husband . He owns a very successful hardwood flooring business that he has built from the ground up and I handle all the errands and paperwork that go along with it . I also work for a company out of Knoxville part-time . I go different places and get a car count at intersections . The reason I have to get a count varies . Sometimes it is a big department store wanting to build and they want to know the best place to build in the town , or in some cases the city is looking at adding , removing , or changing the location of a red light . So far most of my counts have been in various cities/towns in Kentucky and tomorrow is the same . I am headed for Manchester, Kentucky and I will return late Wednesday or early Thursday . Anyways, I thought I would post a bit of poopie around here for y'all while I am gone , just for a few laughs !

Enjoy !!!!

The Poopie List

Ghost Poopie = the kind where you feel the poopie come out , but there is no poopie in the toilet.

Clean Poopie =
the kind where you poopie it out , see it in the toilet , but there is nothing on the toilet paper.

Wet Poopie = the kind where you wipe your butt 50 times and it still feels unwiped, so you have to put some toilet paper between your butt and underwear so you won't ruin them with a stain .

Second Wave Poopie = this happens when you're done Poopie-ing and you've pulled up your pants to your knees , and you realize that you have to poope some more .

Pop-A-Vein-In-Your-Forehead-Poopie = the kind where you strain so much to get it out , you practically have a stroke.

Gassy Poopie = it's so noisy , everyone within earshot is laughing .

Drinker Poopie = the kind of Poopie you have the morning after a long night of drinking. It's most noitceable trait is the skid marks on the bottom of the toilet .

Lincoln Log Poopie = the kind of Poopie tha tis so huge you're afraid to flush without first breaking it into little pieces with the toilet brush .

Corn Poopie = self-explanatory .

Gee-I- Wish-I-Could-Poopie Poopie = the kind where you want to Poopie but all you do is sit on the toilet and fart a few times.

Spinal Tap Poopie = that's where it hurst so badly coming out , you would swear it was leaving you sideways.

Wet Cheeks Poopie( The Power Dump) = the kind that comes out of your butt so fast , your butt gets splashed with water .

Liquid Poopie = the kind where yellowish-brown liquid shoots out of your butt and splashes all over the toilet bowl.

Mexican Poopie = it smells so bad your nose burns .

The Surprise Poopie = you're not even at the toilet because you are sure you're about to fart , but oops ....a poopie!!!

The Dangling Poopie = this poopie often refuses to drop into the toilet even though you know you are done Poopie-ing it . You just pray that a shake or two will cut it loose.

Y'all be safe , take care and I will miss you while I am gone !

medication , education and sleeping like the dead ...

Hey all ! Just call me "Slacker" from here on out . LOL! I have actually just been very busy and when didn't have time to get on and when I did have time to get on , well , I will tell you what I was doing then on down in the post .

Medication
I posted ,not too long ago, about the new Daytrana patch(for ADHD) that my son was recently prescribed . I promised an update because some of you were interested his reaction to it . He has been using the patch for a week now and we are very satisfied with it . The first thing that I noticed with the patch was that my sons appetite didn't decrease like it did with the pills he took . Instead we have saw a major increase in his appetite but when I took him to the doctor today he had lost a pound which right now isn't a major concern unless he looses more than 2 & 1/2 lbs . My son is sleeping soundly throughout the entire night which is something he doesn't do with the pills , he also has a much better attitude , not that he had a bad one with the pill but he was more prone to get frustrated easier than with the patch . All in all I have no complaints except one and it doesn't even concern my son , it concerns me . When the doctor prescribed the patch to us she and I discussed the patch in detail for some time . The first thing that she told me when I asked about applying the patch to my sons hip was that I needed to try and get the patch on as quickly as possible , try not to touch the sticky stuff (medication) , and to wash my hands really good as soon as the patch has been applied . I just didn't understand how strong methylphenidate was until I got some of the sticky stuff on my fingers . I immediately washed my hands but within five minutes I was extremely nauseous and for the rest of the day I had a bad copper kind of taste in my mouth . Since that first day I have been very careful about getting it on my fingers but sometimes it can't be helped however, I did discuss this with my sons doctor and she said she would get back to me because she wanted to discuss it with their rep from Daytrana because she thought that just that little bit on my fingers making me feel that way was very interesting . My son loves it so I can deal with getting it on my fingers every once in a while for him .

Education
With all that being said about the meds , let me say that even though it is doing good things my sons school work is not improving as of yet and it should have just a bit so I called
Sylvan Learning Centre today . My son will start with them within the next two weeks and I am so excited to get started . Even if the meds helped to improve his school work right now , when his body becomes use /immune to the milligrams he is taking his work will drop anyways so I decided that we would do something different for that because I am very concerned about his future. He loves school and everything about it but he gets frustrated a lot because he will be working on something that he knows but he can't concentrate enough to get right so his grades are suffering for this . I can't wait to post more about this once he gets started .

Sleeping Like the Dead
This is what I have been doing when I wasn't busy . For some reason , the past week and a half has been weird for me because if I sit down I go to sleep . I have been completely exhausted and most days I have taken two naps and still felt like I hadn't slept in days when bed time arrived that night . My kids think it is funny because I have never been one to take naps but here lately if I hit the sofa or the recliner I am out within minutes . One of the kids actually joked during supper last night that they were surprised I didn't fall asleep in my plate because I was sitting and relaxed . I think one of my problems is that since the weather has changed here my sinuses/allergies have been killing me. Also just the weather change itself makes me want to cuddle up under a nice soft blanket with the kids and watch tv or snooze . I am a very light sleeper but when these "naps" come on me and I go to sleep , you could set dynamite off beside me and I wouldn't know it .

Anyways, that is what I have been doing that has caused me to slack off from my blog . Y'all take care ! :)

meds and teenagers ...

The doctor has put my son on a brand new type of medicine for his ADHD . It is called Daytrana and it is actually a patch that he will wear on his hip . The patch is designed for ADHD kids only , ages 6-12. The patch stays on for up to 9 hours depending on how well the child adjusts to it . By using this patch I will be able to control the medicine his body gets . For instance , sometimes when he starts a new medicine or gets moved up in mg's he can't sleep for a few days or his eating drops off to nearly nothing . Sometimes he is a bit more aggressive than usual or more emotional . We are waiting for an approval from our insurance before we can get the patch and I can't wait because I think this might be just the thing for my son . He doesn't mind taking the pills so much but once they are in the body , you can't control that . With the patch the medicine goes straight to the stomach instead of like the pill which has to go through the stomach first which means he has to take it while eating and he has to take it before a certain time each morning .He can't sleep in even on his school breaks with the pill because he has to take it before a certain time or he will be up all night . With the patch you can take it off two or three hours early if their sleep becomes problematic. If you want to read more about it you can go here . Once we get the patch and try it I will do an update post to let you all know how it is working for us .

On to the teenagers part.......

My fourteen year old daughter had a friend over today and this friend brought the most fun game I have ever played . Mad Gab, have you ever heard of it ? It is awesome ! It has all the words that you have to read and say them out loud quickly so you can hear what they are meaning , for instance your card will say EYE MULL OF MACHINE and if you read that quickly you will see that it is actually saying " I'm a love machine". We had so much fun with it . Anyways , sometimes I don't know whether I want to ring my daughters neck or go out and have some fun with her and I know any parents out there who have raised or are raising a teenager knows what I mean by this . When my daughter isn't the know-it-all-genius , she is pretty funny . After dropping her friend of at home she and I were in my mini-van alone on our way home . My daughter wanted to listen to the hip hop station so I turned it and Nelly's song " I Am Number One" came on and I , for some odd reason , have always liked Nelly . We were sitting at a red light singing , my window was down and we weren't singing that loud , anyways , this little beat up car that sounded like it was on it last mile pulled up beside us and started to rev the motor . My first thought was "oh please , I am in a mini-van for gods sake" but this kid kept on revving . My daughter stopped singing and looked over at this guy and says " oh so you wanna a piece of this eh?" which the kid couldn't hear her but she likes to talk smack . She then turns to me and says " smoke him mom!" so when the light turned green I took off at normal pace because like I said , I am in a friggin mini-van . The car gets about five car lengths in front of us and my daughter is like " take him Mom " so I sped up a bit and actually started racing with this kid . It didn't take long to figure out that even though I was driving the mom mobile , as my daughter calls it , it was going to be easy to take this kid . Once we got way in front of the car my daughter looks over and back towards the car and says " oh yeah , you got smoked by a mini-van , come get you some more big boy" . I laughed so hard I almost ran off the highway because most of the time my daughter would rather ride a camels back to get where she wants to go than ride in the dreaded mom mobile. This was one of those moments that I will remember forever because of the little excited twinkle that came into her eyes when she was talkin' her smack .

Sometimes I think it is good just to get down to their level and "hang out " with them . The one thing Mr. Breazy and I promised when we found out that I was pregnant with her was that we would never forget what it was like being a teenager because it is a very hard time in life . So far I haven't broken that promise and every time we have to sit her down and have a talk with her we try to look at the situation from her point of view as well . This has helped so many times . Sometimes she and I will be home and we turn on the radio and start dancing in the living room then my other two children and husband comes to see what we are doing and they end up joining in . I don't want my kids to look back one day and think that their dad and I were too busy being parents to stop and smell the coffee , so to speak .

So tell me what you do with your kids to have fun ?

it's really happening !!!! WOOHOO!!!

I meet with the builders tomorrow to go over everything that will be going into our house . I can't wait because I have all the details down and I am ready . It still doesn't feel real yet so I am hoping that once we break ground it will sink in . We should sign the contract by the end of this week or the first of next week , right now we are still finalizing those last minute things . I did get awesome news today though , once all the figures were put in and all , our intrest rate was much lower than we expected so all of that research and weighing our options really paid off . Our house payment is going to be about four to five hundred dollars cheaper than we estimated so that is really great .

The kids are out on fall break this week so we are doing a lot of sorting through their belongings and seeing what they want and what they don't want and once that is all done I am going to have a yard sale and let the kids label and price their things so that they can get the money for it , then what is left from the yard sale we will box up and take to the Knoxville Rescue Ministries . I am doing some sorting through my own things because I am hosting a Home Interiors party this coming Thursday night . Two things in life that I absolutely love and indulge in is Home Interiors and Pampered Chef . I could break a millionaire with either ! I love a variety of things and it shows in my decorating because I don't really have a theme that I do , I just put out things I like . When our house is built and we move in, my office will be done in lighthouses and that will be the first time that I have ever had a room done in one complete theme and it won't be just lighthouses , it will be more of a beachy , tropical kind of thing because that is what relaxes me and what better place to have a relaxing effect than in the office where I will spend a lot of my time . Mr . Breazy and I are also going to build some pieces for our home like our dinning table and end tables for the living room and a few more things I have in mind . By building our own we know that they are unique and we aren't going to walk into someone elses home one day and see the exact same pieces we have .

Am I the only one that is this excited and nervous or were any of you this way when you bought/built your homes ? I can't wait to post the first pic of them cutting into the dirt and believe me , it will be here along with the progress of each stage of the building . Anyways, enough of my excited babble , I need to get to bed because tomorrow is going to be a busy day . Y'all be safe , take care and have a good day !

WOOHOO, WOOHOOO ! We took the plunge !

Hey all ! Sorry but I don't have an HNT going here today , however you can go over to SWHAB and see my friends and I .

Okay, so what this post is about is good news ! I have posted on here several times about building a home . I even showed a pic of the house we wanted to build . Well , we really go to thinking about that big two story home and we ended up changing our minds because #1 the kids won't live with us forever and we don't need that much house for the two of us when the kids do go their own way #2 aging people don't do stairs well . #3 who wants that much house to clean ?. We finally recieved our deed about three weeks ago so it is ours free and clear . Before that we weighed some optioins and looked at several different avenues we could take . With the way time is for us right now there would be no way we could build the way we wanted to which was us doing all the work except for the electric , sheetrock and a couple other things ourselves . A friend of ours, which is a pro. baseball player, just bough a modular home back in the summer . For those of you thinking that modular and mobile home are the same thing let me say that would be wrong . A modular home is a bit different because # 1 it is built with better materials #2 you can design your own or do as much customization to one of the company's floor plans . We ended up deciding against this as well because it seemed that our friends were having too many problems with the completion of their modular home . So we set out to search out some contractors to build our home at a good price . It didn't take long to find what we were looking for at a price that we were very much in agreement with and a floor plan that my husband , children and I fell in love with .

My husband and I have never taken a huge plunge like this before. Many years ago we bought a singlewide mobile home , which actually sat on the land that we now own, and lived in it for four years . It didn't take us long to figure that we needed something bigger but my grandfather owned the land and we couldn't build . Now that the land is ours we can do what we want and we don't have to worry about the extra cost of having septic and fill line put in or electricity or water because it is all there .Last Friday my husband and I made the decision to take the plunge and let this one particular company build our home . Like I said I have never done this before so I didn't know how long it would take for the approval to go through and all that , nor did I realize just how nervous people get over this huge step in life . This morning I got the call . The construction loan has been approved , not only that but for way more than we need . I AM SO EXCITED !!!! (insert groovy victory dance here with squealing , tears and all mixed in) . I wished I had known how this experience was going to be with all the nervousness and then excitement .

We go sign a few papers today then there will be a meeting set up to meet with the contractor on our land and stake out where the house is going and all that . I do know that I will be moving into my new home sometime in March or April . I will be posting pics of the construction and all that . YOOOHOOOO!!!!!!! The pic at the beginning of the post shows what it looks like , of course my outside colors will be different . This home looks small from the outside but is surprisingly big inside . It is a very well layed out plan . This plan doesn't come with a garage either because my husband wants to do the garage later on himself . He wants more than a two car bay so that is one addition that will come in the next year or two .

I hope your day is as exciting as mine has been !!!!! HUGS & KISSES !!!!!

Long time blah blah...

It has certainly been a while since I've been here. Sometimes I think about deleting this blog and being done but I also think I am goin...
