I am sorry but I do not have a HNT pic to post . For some reason blogger is being an ass and won't load the pic I want . Anyways , I am not really in the mood for it or anything else for that matter . Let me explain ..
Today around 6pm our neighbor brought over a business letter from a loan company that had my hubby's name on it and our mail lady had accidentally put it in his box . This puzzled us because first off , we haven't applied for anything lately and second , we have never heard of this loan company . My husband brings the letter in and opens it . I am doing some spreadsheets on the computer and waiting for him to tell me what it is all about . I look up and he is pale and not speaking . I asked him what it was and he told me it was a denial letter for a loan . Okay but remember , we haven't applied for anything . The letter stated that the reason for denial was bankruptcy , foreclosure and repossession . WHAT ?????? We haven't filed bankruptcy and we own nothing that can be foreclosed on and we pay for everything we have , no late payments so how can we have a repossession ?
No wonder my hubby was pale . My mind was still moving quickly when my hubby looks up and says " you don't get it do you " and I said "hush , I am thinking of who to call to get this straightened out " . We know a couple that has been known to use other peoples credit without asking . This couple is related to my hubby and they are in the middle of a huge bankruptcy and after several phone calls , to close relatives , we found out that the mortgage company just foreclosed on their $350,000 home . OMG !!!! Please tell me they didn't do what we think they did !
This couple has already lost their first home which was worth about the same amount as this one . They are in real estate and the home that they are currently living in was one they built that wouldn't sell . When I say they are in a huge bankruptcy I am not joking , they are in debt almost a million bucks .
It was so late in the evening that the loan company wasn't opened so we have to wait until tomorrow to find out what we need to do to get this straightened out . First we have to find out if this is a mistake on the loan company's part or if my hubby's relatives have actually used our credit to purchase a few things . Please don't think that I am jumping the gun here because this couple has been known to use other peoples credit and they are both very computer intelligent . Getting someones social security # is childs play to them . I am very nervous and I doubt I will sleep at all tonight . The really scary thing about this whole ordeal is that we have always rented a home and we finally decided a couple of months ago to take the plunge and buy . About a week ago we found a house that fits our needs and budget also it is in the same school district as we live in now . We haven't filled out an application for a mortgage on the home yet because the homeowners are in Mexico on vacation and the agent can't show us the house until they return . So , y'all cross your fingers for us that the credit thing is all a big mistake on the loan companys part .

That bankruptcy stuff sounds serious. You might want to get a lawyer if your identities were stolen.

oh gees, breazy! that is scary and upsetting stuff. really praying it is all just a horrible mistake and resplves quickly.

I hope that "If" it is your hubby's kin. Have their butts thrown in jail and throw away the keys. This is sad to know that your identity can be stolen so easy in this country of High Tech today. Good luck and I hope things are fixed soon for ya'll :)
