I can't believe it ! I am sitting here watching the closing ceremonies for the 2006 Olympics , where did the time go ? I had promised myself to watch as much as possible and as it turned out "as much as possible" wasn't much at all . Normally I make sure that my schedule is clear during the Olympics but this year there were only about four nights out of fourteen that I didn't have something to do . Of course in the previous years , my kids have been younger and most of their activities took place on the weekend or right after school . The rest of the time I watched what I could . Oh well .. there is always 2010 .
There were a few things that I didn't like about this years events , one was the fact that they didn't show as many medal ceremonies , two .. they didn't seem to tell as much about the atheletes as they have in years before . Another thing that has bugged me this time is that I have watched more atheletes fall than in any other Olympics be it Summer or Winter . I was watching the Luge on the first or second day and there were four of the atheletes one after the other that came off their sleds and my thoughts at the time was that they were just having bad luck but it seems that wasn't the case as I watched figure skaters , snowboarders , skiers(in all events) fall . My biggest disappointment came when Michelle Kwan had to step down , that one sure brought a bunch of tears to my eyes . I do admire her for bowing out so gracefully and just having the courage to do so . Anyways ..on to other things...
I didn't go to church tonight because my feet are so swollen that they won't fit into my shoes . This morning I wore a pair of loose flats and they felt like they were a size or two too small . The only thing that will fit my feet right now are my house shoes and I figured some of the congregation might frown a bit if I wore my house shoes so I stayed home .
I can't remember a year when I have really wanted spring and summer to hurry it up as much as I do this year . Maybe that is because we will be building or maybe because I believe that if it is going to be cold the least it could do is drop a couple of really good snows on us to make it worth while!
I guess that is about all of the gabbing I need to do for now so y'all take care , be safe and I will chat with ya later!

i barely watched any of the olympics, which is unusual for me. michel kwan was a total class act, unliek certain other participants. those italian figure skaters needed to be whacked upside the head for being such children.
OMG! I agree with reguarding the Italian couple . The commentator said that they should give the girl a gold medal for the best hissy fit ever thrown at the Olympics . I agreed with him as well ! hehe I thought that it was very disrespectful of her to act that way , especially at the Olympics!
it did go fast.
The olympics...were there any Americans in that thing? LOL...
Jodes.. it sure did ! hehe
CM..yeah this year we were minority over there weren't we but we did come in 2nd for recieving the medals!
I only watched a few events. Cool to watch the first Japanese Ice Skater ever to win the Gold medal in figure skating. :-) In fact I think she is the only Japanese to receive a medal isn't she?. Well she was at the time of her winning hers. Love the Curling event and Bobsledding. A few of the skiing events. I'm sooo ready for Spring to get here. :-)
Blither .. hehe!
Kali.. yeah I liked the Japanese girl as well ! I can't wait to see the summer Olympics now ! hehe
yes the olypics were quick this year...and I wasn't as interested. Whenever i turned them on there wasn't anyting exciting happening. The annoucers weren't on their A game either....it almost seemed as though they were bored.
Swelling feet huh? Put them up and let the others wait on you for a while!
I didn't watch much for some reason, only a little bit here and there.
Rest yourself, girlfriend, and drink lots of water.
Excellent, love it! » » »
