sweeter than honey.....

Hey all ! Wow ! This past week and weekend have been full for my family and I but oh my , my , at the blessings I have recieved . First of all , last weekend I celebrated another year of life , then on monday I celebrated another year of marriage to the most wonderful man on earth . Also on monday our church began it's week long revival . I attended every night and I have to tell you , I recieved so many blessings that I can't even begin to explain them .

As some of you know , thursday was National Prayer Day . Around here , local preachers gather around the steps on the front lawn of the Blount County Courthouse and one at a time they pray . There are a couple of local churches that hold a Bible Marathon for the weekend . The goal is to start at 1 pm on thursday and read the bible all the way through , nonstop , til sunday evening when they finish . This year was their tenth annual Bible Marathon and I participated . Even though it is baptist churches that hold this event , and they only use the King James Version bible , they will let a person from any denomination read if they want . That is how they accomplish their goal each year , by volunteers signing up to read however many chapters they want to read . This year is the first year that I have participated in this event and I was really blessed while doing this . Saturday was the first day that I was able to participate and I read Ezekiel chapter 4-9 , Ezekiel chapter 29-32 , Ezekiel chapter 41-44. Then I went back today and read Romans chapter 4-13, I John chapter 4-5, Revelation chapter 9-11, Revelation chapter 21. I also stayed until the reading was complete and then we had a circle of prayer and finished the marathon by singing Amazing Grace . I then helped them pack and load up . Next year I am going to participate so much more than I did this year and I can't wait !

I have read the same parts of the bible that I read in the marathon but it seems that everytime I read them God gives me a knew perspective on each verse . Three years ago I wouldn't have participated in something like this because you have to stand behind a podium , facing the street and speak into a microphone while you are reading . When the traffic is getting less and less the sound of the readers voice will carry several blocks and it is an amazing feeling to stand there and read the word of God and know that it may fall on ears that have never heard it before or that someone might find salvation by just hearing Gods word be read . It really was an amazing feeling and I thank God for the experience !

I hope you all have a nice day tomorrow ! Good night and God bless !

The bible marathon sounds like a very cool multi-denominational event, though I pity the poor person who had to read Leviticus...
